Amarante, Portugal
Recognised as one of the first boutique hotels in Portugal in 2010, Hotel Casa da Calçada featured a classical identity, inspired by English style, characterised by darker tones and more traditional environments. The intervention aimed to update the infrastructure and redefine the hotel’s overall aesthetic language, giving it a more contemporary character.

The concept was rooted in the connection to the vineyard, an intrinsic element of the place’s identity, which served as inspiration for the colour palette and overall design atmosphere. As in the vineyard, time and space became the central premises of the proposed experience, conveying a sense of sophistication, authenticity, and exclusivity to the guest. The presence of the vineyard and its branches is also expressed throughout the hotel through wall art in textile form, plaster panels, and equipment details, reinforcing the connection to the territory and creating a coherent visual narrative across all spaces.
