River Cruises
Among more than a dozen projects developed for Douro Azul, PPS was responsible for the interior design of two luxury cruise ships, both with the same configuration. As a tribute to the Douro, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the interiors of these vessels—designed with the latest technological innovations—immerse passengers in a floating narrative. Layer by layer, the interior design of both ships incorporates visual elements that celebrate two of the region’s most emblematic arts and crafts.
On Douro Elegance, the main narrative is inspired by traditional embroidery, reinterpreted through a stylised language present in various tile artworks, printed panels, and carpet patterns throughout the spaces. These elements are framed by shades of bordeaux, gold, and green, creating an atmosphere of luxury and comfort.
