CASA DA CALÇADA

AMARANTE, PORTUGAL

Recognized in 2010 as one of Portugal’s first boutique hotels, Hotel Casa da Calçada embodied a classical identity with English-inspired design, defined by dark tones and a more traditional atmosphere. The renovation sought to modernize its infrastructure while redefining the hotel’s aesthetic language, infusing it with a contemporary character.

The concept was deeply rooted in the vineyard—an intrinsic element of the property’s identity—which inspired both the color palette and the overall atmosphere of the project. As in the vineyard, time and space became the guiding principles of the proposed experience, offering guests a sense of sophistication, authenticity, and exclusivity. The vineyard’s presence, along with its foliage, is echoed throughout the hotel in textile wall art, plaster panels, and detailed furnishings, reinforcing the connection to the territory and creating a coherent visual narrative across all spaces.
